Featuring 70+ Piano Students
The Piano Trio Recitals are an opportunity for students of all ages and abilities to experience performing with a professional violinist and cellist. The event, in its 27th season, features pieces selected by the students and their instructors. Some students will choose to perform in a tasteful Halloween costume, others traditional formal attire.

Brad Hawkins is cellist and composer, residing in Seattle, WA. In addition to writing music he performs with the Puget Sound String Quartet, regional orchestras, and the 5th Ave Theatre. He has taught music at Seattle University, Lakeside School, the Academy of Music NW, and currently teaches cello and computer music at Seattle Pacific University. Recent projects include the film "Cinema Chimaera" directed by Mick Flaaen, a Romanian Choral piece with the Seattle Choral Company, and an orchestral tone poem with the NW Symphony Orchestra.
Janet Utterback is a gifted violinist and violin teacher. She earned a Bachelor's in Music Educations from University of Puget Sound and Master in Violin Performance from University of Washington: Seattle. She has the great pleasure of playing with local orchestras including Symphony Tacoma, Tacoma Opera Orchestra, NW Sinfonietta, Auburn Symphony, and Scrap, an ensemble of 12-15 classically trained musicians championing local composers and experimentation. She has a violin studio in Community Music at the University of Puget Sound.
