BENEFIT CONCERT

The Benefit Concert is ORS’ premiere fundraising concert of the year. We are proud to bring forward some of our incredibly skilled teachers and supporters to perform music for you, the audience! The 2022 Benefit Concert featured the widest range of instruments an ORS concert has seen yet. Witness the spectacular yourself below!

SPRING CONCERTO FESTIVAL

Featuring music students with live string ensemble.

The Spring Concerto Festival is ORS’ flagship event. In this event, we bring soloists together with collaborative musicians who form an orchestra to support our students. These musicians are most often college music students or professional musicians, who work with a conductor to prepare alongside the soloist to ensure a wonderful performance. Our soloists rehearse and then perform! These recitals are most often held at the University of Puget Sound in the stellar Schneebeck Hall.

SPRING SUPPORTERS' SOIREE

An invitation-only event for ORS’ incredible donors and supporters, our Spring Soiree is a get-together of who’s who in ORS of Tacoma, and features food, entertainment, and good company.

FALL TRIO FESTIVAL

Featuring music students with collaborative musicians to form a trio consisting of violin, cello, and piano

The Fall Trio Festival is the secondary event for ORS, and occurs in late October. In this event, soloists are brought together with two other collaborative musicians to form what is called a “piano trio” – a violinist, a cellist, and a pianist. For these small ensembles, there is no conductor – all three musicians will work in sync collaboratively. This festival is often held around Halloween time, so many students play festive and spooky music. This festival is most often held at First Lutheran Church here in Tacoma.

WAYS TO PARTICIPATE

ORS provides multiple ways to participate in our events. If you join us as a participant, you’ll have access to the Benefactor Program, where friends and family can pitch in to help make this opportunity possible for you. Also during registration, we offer scholarships to increase access for students from underrepresented groups. Our audience members, volunteers, donors, and sponsors also have important roles as in building the community of support that helps our students have a great performance.

We also bring in local musicians to perform with our students. If this is you – send us an email with your instrument and experience to be considered for upcoming concerts.
