Covid-19 Policy
Concerts
Starting with the Fall Trio Festival this year, ORS will follow in the footsteps of many other Tacoma-based arts organizations, such as Symphony Tacoma and Tacoma Arts Live, by asking guests to the concert series to provide either proof of full vaccination (physical vaccination card OR image of vaccination card) OR proof of a negative PCR COVID-19 test (NOT a “rapid test”) taken within 72 hours before the concert. Guests must also show a valid photo ID for confirmation before gaining entry to the venue.
This includes students, family members, teachers, ORS staff, and anyone else who may be entering First Lutheran Church for the festival.

For a list of Pierce County locations providing testing services (all are free), please click here. Guests without proof of vaccination OR negative PCR test, or who do not carry photo ID, will be denied entrance. The negative PCR test proof should be official documentation (not just a text confirmation). It is recommended to take the test before the day of the concert to ensure that your results are received before the concert begins.
Additionally, masking with a CDC-appropriate mask (click here for examples) will be required for everyone inside the venue regardless of vaccination status. Family / close contact groups are asked to socially distance from other groups for the duration of the event.
A limited supply of hand sanitizer and masks will be provided at the check-in table. We ask that for the safety and comfort of our musicians, staff, and guests, that if you have experienced COVID-19 symptoms in the past 14 days that you stay home and view the concerts when they are posted on the ORS YouTube.
If you have questions about ORS’ comfort and safety measures moving forward, or have concerns about how these guidelines affect your concert experience, please contact us at concerto@orstacoma.org.
Rehearsals
Student rehearsals, due to the limited number of people interacting inside the building, will not require proof of vaccination or negative PCR test. However, masking with a CDC-appropriate mask will still be required, as will social distancing from staff, performers, and between families.
To sum it up...
For concerts, fully vaccinated guests must bring photo ID and proof of vaccination. Other guests must bring photo ID and proof of a negative PCR test within 72 hours of the start time of the concert.
At concerts and rehearsals, all guests are expected to wear an appropriate mask and socially distance themselves from other groups.
Please plan to arrive early to concerts to minimize wait time while some of ORS’ incredible volunteers, Board members, and staff facilitate check-in procedures.
There is no RSVP process for the Fall Trio Festival. All you will need to prepare ahead of time is either proof of vaccination or proof of negative test.
Speaking of volunteers, we would love your assistance this year!
Volunteers make the world go ’round, and at ORS, you are truly a part of making the magic happen. As a volunteer, you can expect to participate in a task of your choosing, from check-in aides at concerts to monitoring rehearsals. Every volunteer is greatly appreciated, whether you can help out for just an hour or for every available role. Sign up to volunteer on the spreadsheet below. Teens and adults welcome!
This year, available volunteer roles are:
- Rehearsal Monitor (10/23, 10/24, 10/28)
- Check-in Aide (concerts)
- Crowd Control / Usher (concerts)
- Clean Up Crew (concerts)
We would be eternally grateful to any friend of ORS who would be willing to help make these events happen smoothly. Click each role title for specific description of what you might do for the role, and sign up on the spreadsheet below.
